I purchased this camera for Astro photography and regular photography.
Much more sensitive to low light than my Olympus E-410 and less noise at
low light conditions. Auto mode works well indoors but in lower light conditions
it pops the flash up and washes out the background. Landscape works better at twilight conditions.
Battery life seems to be good, but am ordering a 2000mah battery for a spare.
Shutter speed only goes down to 30" but with Aputure Timer Camera Remote Control Shutter that is no problem.

a very sophisticated camera with a lot of advanced features, it takes a bit to get to know all the features without reading the manual (a must read to operate, otherwise not very fogiving). The bottons and features are not intuitive and self-explanatory; assumes you already know something about photography. It is a semi professional camera. It is certainly not point and shoot evn on full auto mode. The quality of pictures, once taken right, are simply amazing.
The Canon EOS Rebel T3 is absolutely fantastic in its scope and yet quite easy to use to get excellent automatic photographs. The numerous tweaks and options allow for fine art photography after learning the finer points of this camera. In addition, it is light weight, even with the Canon EF 75~300 mm Telephoto Zoom Lens attached. The product arrived in 2 days and the price couldn't be beat. I'd recommend the camera and the source to anyone.
